Recruitment of Student Ambassadors for the
“Study Abroad in Hong Kong Programme”
for Queen’s and Exeter, UK (18-24 June)

A group of 50 students from University of Exeter and Queen’s University Belfast will be staying at our campus in June to attend the “Study Abroad in Hong Kong Programme” – a leadership training programme to develop skills outside of their academic curriculum. Organized and led by Common Purpose, a global leadership development organization that specializes in cross-boundary leadership, the programme will investigate cultural intelligence, the sharing of diverse opinions, the challenges faced by a leader, the mapping of challenges etc. Participants will participate in immersion visits, group works, presentations, workshops, as well as social and networking activities to develop and scale their potential to be future leaders.

HKU students are cordially invited to participate in the programme together with the students from Exeter and Queen’s and to organize some of the social activities for these UK students.

  • 18-19 June: Welcoming the UK students and Settling In
  • 20-23 June: Programme key dates
  • 24 June: UK students departing Hong Kong

Duties

HKU students will act as local hosts to the UK students and assist them with practicalities of studying abroad in Hong Kong including introducing Hong Kong’s history, culture and heritage, transportation and festivals, to name just a few. They are specially tasked with organizing a morning hike, a welcome dinner and a closing dinner.

Eligibility

  • Students from all disciplines in all years of study are welcome to apply.
  • Only students who are available for the whole period will be eligible for application.

Programme Fee

HKU students will participate in all the programme activities for free. In return, they will commit to the entire programme and to the various ambassadorial duties as outlined above.
