Development of an Interactive Computer-based Learning Platform “The Pharm-Es” for Basic Pharmacology Courses through the Moodle

Abstract

“The Pharm-Es” (for Pharmacology Essentials) will deliver a series of “Essential” concepts in Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics, aiming at helping students “to deepen, to connect and to apply” these essential and often complicated concepts in Pharmacology.

The objectives are to develop a new interactive computer-based learning platform, via the University-preferred Moodle system, for students taking Basic Pharmacology courses here at the University of Hong Kong, to reinforce and solidly integrate their classroom-acquired learning using an interactive real-life experimental and experiential platform “The Pharm-Es”. For both the Pharmacokinetics and Pharmacodynamics E-learning modules, essential concepts suitable for undergraduates are delivered, each with interactive questions to help the student’s understanding and application of the concepts.
