Student Development of a Classroom Response System for Interactive Lecture

Abstract

iClass Button were installed in the Theatre C of the Chow Yei Ching Building for collecting feedback through the means of survey and multiple choices in lecture. The distribution of choices can be shown on a bar chart and/or a pie chart so that teachers can identify the common mistakes for adjusting the teaching plan. Choices from each seat can be also displayed on a floor plan so that teachers can understand the learning progress of each student through the system. A mobile version – iClass Mobile was also developed for students using iPads, tablet PCs and smartphones for conducting interactive class. Details of these projects can be referred to at URL http://www.eee.hku.hk/~iclass/button . A book with some case study and pedagogy example can be downloaded from: http://www.engineering.hku.hk/enggke/library/project-id-3/book_en.pdf
