Programme

The HKU-Common Purpose Leadership Development Programme – Winter 2018 is suitable for students who wish to have an overseas experience but already have an exchange plan or internship commitment during the summer.

The winter programme is run by Common Purpose, a global leadership development organization that aims to develop the next generation of global leaders. Through a month-long programme in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, participants will develop the Cultural Intelligence and leadership skills needed to cross boundaries in the world today.

The Common Purpose Leadership Development Programme (Winter 2018) will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on December 19, 2018 – January 11, 2019. The programme will enable 30 HKU students to:

  • Work in groups of 6 across boundaries
  • Devise, plan and implement group projects
  • Gain access to leading organizations in Kuala Lumpur
  • Boost their cultural intelligence
  • Develop their leadership skills
  • Learn about the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals

Period

4 weeks immersion in Kuala Lumpur, with pre-trip online module starting from December 1, 2018 for two weeks.

Subsidy

Each participant will receive HK$4,000 to support airfare, accommodation and in-country costs from the Gallant Ho Experiential Learning Centre.
