What is it about?

This playful and interactive workshop will provide students with an introduction to assessment methods in the Common Core and focus on practical advice on how best to actively participate in class and tutorials. The Director of Common Core Curriculum will demonstrate a typical learning environment and request audience participation. AAO will highlight key academic resources and explain how to find academic support.

(2) If you have taken a Moodle hands-on course offered by the ITS, we recommend you follow up with an e-learning Pedagogical Support Unit (EPSU) workshop and/or a Faculty of Education/ Centre for Information Technology in Education (CITE) seminar.

The EPSU of the Centre for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning (CETL) offers pedagogically focused e-learning workshops, which leverage the central Moodle platform to enable good teaching practices. These workshops focus on teaching approaches and good teaching practices, complement the Moodle courses offered by the ITS and the Moodle seminars offered by the Faculty of Education/CITE, which tend to focus on innovative teaching practice using the new features available in Moodle.

International SOS – Introduction Sessions

Dear Students and Colleagues,

images (1)I am delighted to inform you that HKU has recently signed an agreement with International SOS to provide worldwide emergency support services to all HKU staff and students.

International SOS is not an insurance policy, it is a worldwide medical and travel security services company, which offers local expertise, preventative advice and emergency assistance through their network of assistance centers, clinics and health and logistics providers throughout the world. This new service offers destination-specific pre-trip health and safety advices, overseas medical and security assistance, emergency medical care and evacuation and many other important services to support our colleagues to deal with emergencies and unexpected situations in the field.

You are cordially invited to join one of the three (identical) Introduction Sessions to learn how International SOS could support you and your projects and how you can begin accessing its services.
