Rayson Huang Memorial Student Enrichment Award

In May 2016, the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Chamber of Commerce pledged to donate a sum of HK$1.1 million, contributed by its members, to set up an award at the University in memory of the late Dr Rayson Huang, Honorary Chairman of the Chamber and the first Chinese Vice-Chancellor of The University of Hong Kong.
Tam Wun Tsun HKU Horizons Student Enrichment Award

In May 2016, the Tam Yik Fong Charitable Foundation pledged a donation of HK$5M to the University to set up a award in honour of the late Ms Tam Wun Tsun, younger sister of Dr Robert Tam Yik Fong (BA 1930). Both Ms Tam and Dr Tam shared a firm belief in education and made several generous gifts to the University in support of the Library, which, according to Dr Tam, held a special place in his heart. In recognition of their generosity, the University’s Tam Villas and Pine Court were named after their family.
Terms of Award
Both awards are intended for undergraduate students who plan to take part in Chinese Mainland or international (ML/INT) learning activities and shall be awarded on the basis of academic merit (normally with a Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above) and demonstrated commitment to and understanding of the proposed ML/INT learning experience.
The value of each Award shall be in the range of HK$5,000 to HK$10,000 per student, depending on the nature, duration and destination of activity.
The Award may not be held concurrently with other enrichment scholarships administered by the University for the same learning activity.
The Award shall be retracted by the University if the recipient fails to undertake the designated enrichment activity.
Application
To apply for either of the Award, please submit (i) the application form online and (ii) email supporting documents as appropriate to Horizons Office (hoawards@hku.hk) on or before March 24, 2024 (6 pm) HK time. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
