The Nansen East-West Dialogue Academy (NEWDAY) is an annual summer school programme hosted at the Nansen Academy in Lillehammer, Norway, designed to facilitate cross-cultural dialogue among university students from East Asia and Nordic countries through lectures, discussion groups, workshops, and social activities focused on contemporary global challenges.

It provides quite a unique platform for students from East and West to engage in dialogue on current global challenges, to learn from each other, and foster harmonious relations. The academy provides a unique opportunity to learn about and debate contemporary issues based on acquired knowledge of great Western and East Asian thinkers and humanitarians, presented by scholars from the Nordic region of Europe and leading universities in the East Asian region.

Eligibility:      Full-time undergraduate students

Attributes:       Being fluent in English, academically excellent, sociable with leadership potential, intellectually curious, and ideally with a special interest in Nordic countries

Sponsorship:   HK$5,000 (for airfare & accommodation)

[N.B.: Participants staying in double rooms will have to pay 11.000 Norwegian Krone, 15.000 for a single room. The price covers all costs, from food, lodging and excursions.]
