1. New e-learning Pedagogical Support Unit Website

The e-learning Pedagogical Support Unit (EPSU) has launched a new website – http://epsu.cetl.hku.hk  – that has been designed to be more interactive.

2. e-learning Pedagogical Support Unit YouTube Channel

The EPSU has launched a YouTube Channel – http://www.youtube.com/user/hkuepsu – to
deliver pedagogical support videos to Faculty.

3. e-learning Pedagogical Support Unit Services

If you have an idea for a Faculty level workshop or would like support developing your course for Moodle, please get in touch with Iain Doherty (i.doherty@hku.hk).

4. Local Moodle User Groups

The EPSU has been consulting with colleagues within Faculties to set up Faculty level Moodle User Groups (MUGs). Contact your Faculty e-learning Officer – http://epsu.cetl.hku.hk/elearning-officers/ – to see if there is a group in your Faculty.

5. Have Your Say With Moodle

The University e-learning Enhancement Task Force (EETF) manages the process around requests to enhance Moodle so that the system meets the specific needs of Faculties. If you want to see changes to Moodle take a look at the full newsletter (http://epsu.cetl.hku.hk/elearning-news-dec2012/).

6. The Moodle Users Group

The Moodle Users Group meets most Thursdays at lunchtime for workshops on teaching practice using the Moodle LMS.  Click here for the latest workshop schedule.    (http://www.cite.hku.hk/news.php?category=seminar)

7. e-learning seminars by the Faculty of Education and CITE

8. Revamp of Moodle Support Website

The Moodle support website (http://moodle-support.hku.hk ) has been revamped and rolled out with a completely new layout.

9. Scaled Up of Moodle server system

To further enhance Moodle server capacity and performance, two more web servers were added to the pool of three web servers.

10. Moodle Hands-on Training Courses for Staff

About the Workshop

The Moodle Users Group workshops are designed to give instructors and TAs support for the development and implementation of Moodle courses to support teaching and learning.  Users of all levels are welcome: if you need help uploading files, setting up collaborative activities, or aligning your course curriculum with your intended learning outcomes.   Bring your laptop — these are hands-on workshops! Facilitators may demonstrate their own Moodle courses and activities, but there are no slideshow presentations planned.
