Experiential Learning in Comparative Literature: Internship in Comparative Literature and Cultural Sectors
Abstract
By developing a full-scale, well-established internship program in the Department of Comparative Literature, this project enables students to acquire critical thinking and transform this particular knowledge in an actual workplace. Internships in Comparative Literature and Cultural Sectors have transformed students’ learning experience and developed their capabilities in lifelong learning. The project’s deliverables include assessment modes and standards specifically for students majoring in Comparative Literature, and specific grade descriptors for internships. A comprehensive student intern’s handbook and a webpage for the internship program have also been developed to facilitate the internship course. It is believed that more and more students will be benefited from the internship program in the near future as internships are now made available to students in the arts and humanities disciplines.
