International Peer Review: Supporting Diverse Learning and Assessment Experiences in Clinical Dental Education
Abstract
The conceptual framework for the 4-year undergraduate curriculum reform outlined in Transforming Student Learning established a goal of the curriculum ‘to make available multifarious educational experiences and to structure these experiences in meaningful and coherent ways throughout their undergraduate curriculum’. Internationalization of the undergraduate curriculum aims to contribute to this multiplicity and breadth of learning experiences. This vision for internationalization is evident in both the University Aims for undergraduate education endorsed in 2008 and in the recently published HKU Strategic Development (2009-2014) which included strategic initiatives for the theme of “Enhancing the student learning experience”. Of particular relevance to this project is the policy’s focus on global citizenship and incorporating stimulating, international learning experiences.
