Diverse Learning Experience
Experiential Learning Programmes for Science Students
Abstract
This project developed two experiential learning programmes for Science students that complement traditional classroom-based pedagogy of the BSc curriculum:
- A Research Fellowship Programme which comprises two Schemes: Summer Research Fellowship (SRF) Scheme and Overseas Research Fellowship (ORF) Scheme. It provides opportunities to outstanding undergraduate Science students to conduct scientific research either within HKU or at overseas universities, and to present their research findings in a professional setting.
- A new course “Career Development for Science Students” within the formal undergraduate curriculum which, through diverse forms of learning activities, helps students to acquire competence and confidence in pursuing their career aspiration and personal development, and provides practical training and coaching in their job seeking process.
