e-learning @ HKU

At HKU, e-learning is not narrowly confined to the use of technology in distance learning, but is defined as the use of all types of technologies to enhance teaching and learning in conjunction with face-to-face learning. An e-learning strategy proposal, having regard to its implications for the new curriculum, was endorsed by Senate in June 2011. The aim of an e-learning strategy is to enhance students’ learning experiences through the creative, appropriate and effective use of technologies. It emphasizes the centrality of learning and the use of technologies as a tool to enrich the quality of learning and open up new opportunities for learning.
